educational experience for students.
Spring Semester Activities
On January 22, the CEC hosted its 15th annual Education & Government Seminar at the Sloppy Floyd Building at the state capitol. University System of Georgia Chancellor Erroll Davis, Jr., Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, State Superintendent Kathy Cox, DTAE Commissioner Ron Jackson, and many other legislators and educational leaders addressed our leadership academy on the current issues that are relevant to them as educators in Cobb and the surrounding counties. The event drew more than 200 legislators, business and educational leaders, and other invited guests from the CEC’s member institutions.
The CEC has several exciting and informative events planned for this spring! Academy members will hear presentations by former UGA President Charles Knapp and Family Friendly Schools representative Steve Constantino. The second-year members will attend an all-day retreat to wrap up their CEC experience. The final event of the year will be an awards luncheon, which will culminate with presentations by the second-year members of their committee projects. At this event, members of both academies will be recognized for the successful completion of either their first- or second-year program with the CEC.
